Seventeen Years Before

Seventeen years earlier, Lacy and Alex had met for the first time through a prenatal class. Alex becomes part of Lacy's everyday life when she discovers she is pregnant with Logan Rourke. Alex really does not seem to have anyone to comfort her through the tough times, so she turns to Lacy. Logan would not be apart of her life as he wishes to terminate the baby, not ever considering how Alex feels. Logan already had a family he intends to protect and would have no responsibility with Alex or the baby. Alex does her best to maintain a healthy lifestyle and do all she can for her unborn baby. She realizes she will have to do this on her own, but knows her friend will be there to aid. At the end of the chapter, Alex gives birth to a baby girl, Josie.
